Roshi (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Roshi mobile app (“App”) handles information.
1. Overview
Roshi is a mindfulness app designed to support meditation, breathing, and focus sessions. We aim to collect as little data as possible.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
Roshi does not require account creation and does not collect profile information by default.
2.2 Health data (optional, only if you opt in)
If you choose to enable health features, Roshi may request access to Apple Health data through HealthKit, including:
- Mindful session logging (writing mindful minutes)
- Heart rate display during meditation (reading heart rate, when available)
Health access is optional and disabled unless you explicitly enable it and grant permission.
2.3 Purchase data (optional)
If you choose to send a tip, purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card details.
2.4 Diagnostic / analytics events
Roshi may log limited app events (for example session start/end or permission flow outcomes) for app quality and debugging. These events are not intended to identify you personally.
3. How We Use Information
We use data only to:
- Provide core app functionality
- Enable optional health features you choose
- Improve app stability and user experience
- Process optional in-app tips through Apple systems
4. Health Data Handling
Health data permissions are managed by Apple Health / iOS. You can revoke access at any time in:
- iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health
- Health app > Profile > Apps
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only rely on Apple platform services (such as HealthKit and StoreKit) to provide requested functionality.
6. Data Retention
- App preferences are stored on-device.
- Health data written to Apple Health is retained according to Apple Health settings and your device/account configuration.
- Any diagnostic logs are retained only as needed for app operations and quality.
7. Your Choices
You can:
- Use Roshi without enabling health features
- Disable health feature toggles at any time
- Revoke Health permissions in iOS
- Stop using the app at any time
8. Children's Privacy
Roshi is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data through the app, contact us to request deletion where applicable.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate for a small mobile app. However, no method of transmission or storage is guaranteed 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date when changes are made.
